We Believe In God.
God has always existed and will always exist. He is the Creator of all that exists
in all the universe and beyond. In the Bible God reveals His desire to reconcile humanity to Himself.
God loves the people of the world so much that He has revealed Himself to us and offered
reconciliation to us through His Son, Jesus Christ.
We Believe In Jesus Christ.
While completely divine, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, became completely human, being born of the
virgin Mary. He lived without sin, made the lame to walk, healed the sick, gave sight to the blind,
and proclaimed the arrival of God's Kingdom. As history attests, He was crucified, died and was buried,
and rose from the dead on the third day. He ascended to heaven where He is enthroned at the right hand
of God. Jesus is alive today and will return to claim His followers.
We Believe In The Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is the gift of God who dwells in the life of each believer. When we are baptized into
Christ, His own presence in our lives is sealed with the Holy Spirit who guides, equips, directs and empowers
us to live boldly for Christ.
We Believe In The Church.
Each person who becomes a follower of Christ enters a unified family that includes all Christians of all times
and places. Christians experience and express this profound reality as they gather at the invitation of Christ
to the table of rememberance, the Lord's Supper. Because of this truth, all believers are welcome, and by Christ's
invitation, to participate. The Lord's table is the central act of worship for us each Sunday.
We Believe In The Local Congregation.
Each person who becomes a follower of Christ after the New Testament pattern has a need and responsibility to
commit to a specific congregation. Each of us comes to Christ personally but not privately. We are called to
belong to a community for support, nurturing, accountability, and ministry. The New Testament clearly instructs
all Christians to participate in the life and service of a church family.
We Believe In The Bible.
The Bible is the inspired Word of God. This is the authoritative guide for all that we believe and do both as
individuals and as a Church. In areas where Scripture does not give us direction, each believer is called to
follow personal conscience as guided by the Holy Spirit, always submitting personal freedom to that which
encourages and builds up others in Christ.
We Believe In The Uniqueness Of Humanity.
Humans are created in the image of God. God loves all people and has provided the opportunity for every person
to be reconciled to Him. Being created in His image also means that we have the ability to choose. We can choose
to reject or accept the free gift of life that He offers through Jesus who took on Himself the punishment for our sin.
We Believe In Transformed Lives.
Christ provides for a transformation in our relationship to God and also for the transformation of our lives.
Baptism profoundly communicates how God raises us to new life in Christ while cleansing us from sin. The promised
Holy Spirit marks our acceptance into God's family and continues the work of transformation as we seek to follow
the example of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We Believe In Christ-Centered Living.
To acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Savior involves every part of our lives. God intends for us to grow to maturity
and understanding of His Word and the application of its teaching. We are called to carry on the ministry of Jesus,
using our talents, resources, and abilities for the purpose of communicating God's love and saving work to
all people everywhere.
We Believe In Christ's Return.
Jesus will return to judge all people, both living and dead. This will occur at a time known only to God. In the
meantime, we are called to prepare for His coming through obedience to His commands and through proclaiming
the message of salvation in both word and deed. We do not preoccupy ourselves with searching for a blueprint for the
end times. We choose instead to be watchful, secure in the knowledge that God keeps promises and that He has
prepared a place of reward where we will know and enjoy Him forever, as He intended from the beginning.
